PAM00520

Radiomir 1940 Chronograph Oro Bianco

Item is in stock.

Framed by its case measuring 45mm in diameter, the Radiomir blends innovative and traditional elements within a 1940’s-style design. One such element is its exclusive calibre which renews PANERAI's historic links with Minerva, the Swiss movement manufacture. Its new colour scheme, unique dial and elegant white gold case lend the PANERAI PAM 520 a distinctive, innovative identity.

All of the elegant, classic elements of the PANERAI PAM 520's white-gold case are polished to the last detail. Just like the legendary Radiomir diving watches, the cool 18K white gold, which contains 15 per cent palladium, contrasts with the deep matt-black of the dial. The sand-coloured, dot-shaped hour markers and batons on the sandwich dial glow in the dark – as on the historic originals.

A traditional alliance of design and function

The dial's functional features are a tachymeter scale for speed calculations on the outer edge, and two counters. A chronograph minute counter is positioned at 3 o'clock, with the seconds counter directly opposite, whilst the primary chronograph seconds counter is centrally located. Despite this wealth of features, the dial maintains its authenticity. Looking out for an exclusive chronograph such as the PANERAI PAM 520 is a wise choice, because with this watch, OFFICINE PANERAI has combined a luxurious and distinctive design with the very best of today's craftsmanship.

An unmistakable continuation of classic watch tradition

The simple lines of the Radiomir 1940 make reference to the evolution of the cushion-shaped Radiomir into the massively proportioned Luminor. Its watch glass is made from 2.8mm thick Plexiglas®, similar to the first Radiomir models, and has a 5 bar water resistance. On the reverse side is a transparent sapphire crystal caseback which reveals the OP XXV calibre movement.

Timeless elegance

This is a PANERAI re-engineered, hand-wound mechanical watch movement with a swan's neck regulator, Glucydur® balance wheel and Incabloc® anti-shock protection. The chronograph operates at 18,000 alternations/hour, has Côtes de Genève decoration on the bridges, and achieves a power reserve of 55 hours. This timepiece is fitted with a black alligator leather strap with sand-coloured stitching and a white gold buckle.
