In the early 1930’s, the Italian inventor Guido Panerai was the owner of a small watchmaking business in Florence. He developed measurement tools for secret applications for the Italian navy. But his greatest invention was the luminous dial. This made it possible to read navigational instruments even in complete darkness. Today, PANERAI wrist watches are still produced for professional use according to the same principle as back then.

With an OP logo on the dial

The Luminor Marina Logo PAM 631 is produced in the new OFFICINE PANERAI manufacturing facility in Neuchâtel. In this divers’ watch, PANERAI have used the C.O.S.C. certified calibre OP II, with a power reserve of 56 hours. The PAM00631 is powered by a mechanical, manually-wound movement. It beats at a frequency of 21,600 oscillations per hour. Hours/minutes are displayed on the black dial and small seconds at the 9 o’clock position.

Super-LumiNova in cream colour

The PANERAI PAM 631 comes with a black calf-leather strap and black stitching. To go with it, they have mounted a steel pin buckle. The cream-coloured Super LumiNova luminous material on the black dial gives the Luminor Marina Logo Acciaio the vintage character all “Paneristi” look for. The combination of polished steel, black dial and cream-coloured indices, hands and numerals is very refined.

What’s special about the PAM 631 is the driven caseback with the steel OP = OFFICINE PANERAI Logo. Along with the crown protection bracket at the 3 o’clock position, it guarantees the watch is watertight to 300 metres. The dial shows hours/minutes and small seconds at the 9 o’clock position. Not to be overlooked! The OP = OFFICINE PANERAI Logo at the 6 o’clock position is light-blue in colour and printed on the black dial.
