The Radiomir 1940 3 Days Ceramica has all the key features of the classical diver's watch. PANERAI prides itself in being innovative and forward-looking in the field of micromechanics. The matt-black ceramic case has remarkable scratch-resistant properties. The distinctive minimalist design of the sandwich dial bears the image of a manned torpedo - a hugely important motif in the history of OFFICINE PANERAI.

OFFICINE PANERAI stands for modern Swiss watchmaking expertise with a long and illustrious history. The PAM 577 carries forward the ingenuity first displayed by the Florentine manufacturer of diving watches for the Italian navy, and in so doing it pays homage to the origins of diving watches.

Creativity and passion in perfect harmony

The PANERAI PAM0057 case has a diameter of 48mm, which is based on the case size of the original, pre-war model, which was designed for combat divers in the Italian navy. This 1940 case is simple and strong, and shows how the Radiomir developed into the Luminor, as the designers aspired to absolute functionality and reliability. These standards still hold in watchmaking today, and can be seen in the innovative ceramic case of the PAM 577. Its light, shock-resistant and non-corrosive properties are achieved through a complex process using zirconium oxide. The resulting smooth, matt-black surface has exceptional aesthetic appeal.

Nautical requirements: still a defining force today

Like its historic predecessors, the PAM 577 has optimal legibility. The large, black dial is made using a sandwich technique with a fluorescent layer to make the markings and Arabic numerals more visible. This effect is stronger in dark conditions, and thus ideal for diving expeditions. At the 6 o'clock position the model's key feature is displayed: an image of the Siluro a Lenta Corsa (SLC), a manned torpedo, which commemorates the Italian navy special forces who wore Guido Panerai diving watches on their daring underwater missions.

Original features in modern mechanical form

The PANERAI brand's traditional values are maintained in the movement and thus the sturdy manual winding PANERAI P.3000 calibre is the perfect choice. Two linked barrels provide a three day power reserve and constant power transmission to the Glucydur® balance, which achieves 21,600 alternations/hour.
