With PANERAI's Luminor GMT PAM 088, the Italian company have developed an exclusive watch with a GMT function which makes it possible to see both local time and a second time zone at a glance. Though it incorporates the latest technically-advanced movement, the PANERAI PAM 088 is reminiscent of the historic Luminor models. One difference is its case, where the smaller diameter of 44 millimeters contrasts with the 47 millimeter 1950 originals. Thus, the new PANERAI Luminor GMT Automatic Acciaio model is an extremely high-quality watch, which is just perfect for diving.
Powering the PANERAI Luminor GMT Automatic Acciaio - 44mm is an OP VIII calibre automatic mechanical movement, with a 42-hour power reserve. This watch has the characteristic Côtes de Genève decoration on the bridges, plus inspection and certification by the C.O.S.C. Its functions make the Luminor a particularly versatile watch.
In addition to precisely, easily readable hours and minutes, the watch also has a small seconds display and features a date window at the 3 o'clock position. Frequent flyers and travellers who regularly cross time zones will really appreciate the second time zone function.
PANERAI’s 44mm diameter Luminor GMT Automatic Acciaio PAM 088 has a watch case made of polished AISI 316L stainless steel, and polished steel is similarly used for its bezel and crown-protection bridge, the caseback is made of brushed steel. The black dial is a perfect visual match for the case, and its luminous Arabic numerals and markers ensure this diving watch remains easily readable, even underwater.
A 24-hour display is located on the dial edge with small seconds at 9 o'clock. These are viewed through a 3.5 mm thick anti-glare watch-glass made of sapphire glass. For optimum visibility, the date window incorporates a small magnifying lens. This quality timepiece is waterproof to 30 bar (300 meters). The watch comes with an alligator-leather strap and a deployant polished-steel buckle, and a second interchangeable strap and steel screwdriver are also included. In 2015, this model will be replaced by the PANERAI model PAM 531.
