The new PAM 1005 follows in the footsteps of the successful PAM 005 Luminor Marina Logo Acciaio. As of summer 2016, the PAM 005 will no longer be in production. The new PAM01005 impresses with its elegant watch face and robust technology. OFFICINE PANERAI presents the new basic model with the popular hand-wound calibre OP II.
Ever since the Italian navy contracted the founder, Guido Panerai, with the task of creating a new diving watch for scuba divers, the technology of the Luminor Marina models has continuously developed without affecting the PANERAI design. The new PAM01005 Luminor Marina Logo Acciaio is a prime example of how carefully OFFICINE PANERAI handles its new designs. At first glance everything looks like the previous model.
OFFICINE PANERAI stands for quality and precision when it comes to manufacturing robust diving watches. The new PAM 1005 is the new version of the highly successful PAM 005. The watch face is the same as its predecessor, the PAM 005. However, it works with more finesse. Luminor Marina at the 12 o’clock position. OP logo and PANERAI lettering at 6 o’clock position. Small seconds at 9 o’clock. However, the casing is new! More accurately, the casing bottom is no longer screwed on; instead, it is incorporated into the casing.
A design which is still relevant even after 60 years; that is what makes a classic. OFFICINE PANERAI handles such changes with great care. Paneristi will immediately recognise the new PAM01005. However, the new casing is waterproof down to depths of 100 metres and suitable for divers. The COSC-certified, mechanical movement with hand-winding provides energy for 56 hours of power reserve to display the hour, minute and seconds.
OFFICINE PANERAI presents the new PAM 1005 Luminor Marina Logo Acciaio ex-works with a gold-coloured “Monte-Carlo” calf leather watch strap with gold-coloured stitching. In perfect style, PANERAI treats the PAM01005 to Super-LumiNova® needles, digits and indexes on the black watch face. Demand will far outweigh production. This may lead to long delivery times.
