Black, broad, brilliant! This is how the new PANERAI Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Ceramica comes across. PANERAI have succeeded in making a very sporty timepiece, in the form of this divers’ watch with a 47mm case made of sandblasted ceramic. Above all, thanks to the cream-coloured luminous points on the bezel, dial with small seconds, hands and date.
The Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Ceramica features a ceramic case 47mm in diameter. OFFICINE PANERAI fit the manufacturer calibre P.9000 with 3-day power reserve into this model. For safety reasons, the bezel can only be turned on one side, and it is made of matt ceramic, just like the case. The PAM 508 is a special edition from the SIHH 2013, and comes in a strictly limited edition of 1,000.
OFFICINE PANERAI has used a special high-tech ceramic to make the Luminor 950 case. This material is up to five times harder than stainless steel, making it extremely robust and scratch-resistant. The mechanical automatic calibre P.9000 movement used is manufactured completely by OFFICINE PANERAI and consists of 197 components. The functions on the Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Ceramica have been kept to the bare minimum. As well as hours, minutes and small seconds display, the date is also very easy to read.
In addition, you can calculate the dive time, which means the PAM00508 is of particular interest to water-sports enthusiasts. The caseback on the Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Ceramica consists of black, coated Titanium. The crown protection bracket is made of black ceramic. The dial is a deep black, in keeping with the case. Only the beige-coloured Super-LumiNova® luminous material stands out to great effect from the black dial. The date is located at the 3 o’clock position, and the seconds display is at the 9 o’clock position. Sapphire glass has been used for the glass. The PAM 508 is guaranteed watertight to 30 bar, which corresponds to a depth of around 300 metres.
The Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Ceramica comes with a very soft, black, vintage calf-leather strap. To match the luminous points on the dial, the stitches on the strap are also beige. The 22mm wide trapeze-design clasp is coated in black. A rubber strap and a steel screwdriver are also included. The PAM 508 comes in a strictly limited edition of just 1,000. Paneristi should not delay, as this limited edition is very desirable and should be left out of any collection.
