With the PANERAI Radiomir Platino PAM 521, the company presents a Radiomir which was inspired by a rare specimen from the late 1930’s. It is recognisable partly due to the faithful reproduction of the 12-edged bezel. Even the casing was inspired by the historical model. The caseback and bezel are bolted directly to the central part of the casing. As with the historical models, the new Radiomir Platino also has a case diameter of 47 millimetres.
The patented kick loops, which are easy to remove for easy exchange of the bracelet, were also used in this model. The PANERAI Radiomir Platino 47mm, labelled PAM 521, is supplied with a dark brown alligator-leather strap.
The clasp is made of polished 18K white gold. When it comes to movement, the PANERAI PAM 521 has a mechanical movement with manual winding, which is exclusive to the calibre OP XXVII. Other characteristic features are the swan neck regulator and a power reserve of 55 hours.
The functions of the PANERAI Radiomir Platino PAM00521 show the model to be very purist. This facilitates the clarity and ensures a fast readability of the hours and minutes. In addition, the small seconds display is present. The polished platinum casing, with a diameter of 47 millimetres, is very striking and is highly beneficial for those who want to wear an imposing watch on their wrist. The bezel looks very classy with the platinum satin and polished edges and blends harmoniously into the overall appearance.
The Italian watch manufacturer PANERAI has used transparent sapphire crystal at the base plate, and for the glass of the watch, 2.1 millimetres thick Plexiglas® has been used. A second Plexiglas® is included. The seconds display is arranged at nine o'clock on the brown dial. The water-resistance of the watch is 5 bar. The PANERAI PAM 521 is limited to 100 pieces.
