Luminor 1950 Left-Handed 3 Days Acciaio

The clear, factual design with black dial and fluorescent hands, numbers and indexes guarantees perfect readability of hours and minutes at day, night and underwater. The stainless steel PANERAI Luminor 1950 Left Handed 3 Days Acciaio PAM 557 is a new interpretation of the company’s historic left handed watches especially developed for use underwater.

Delivery times for this product are dependent on PANERAI and can take several weeks.

The PAM 557 is a clear homage to the PANERAI company history and its tradition as manufacturer of qualitative high divers watches. The retro look watch presents itself in a clear design.

Extraordinary technology

The hand wound PAM 557 has a calibre P.3000 as movement which the Italian manufacturer produces in-house. The 5.3mm thick movement has 160 parts, a Glucydur® balance wheel, an Incabloc® shock absorption and two spring barrels. It provides a 3-day power reserve. The PANERAI PAM 557 sports a watch glass of 3mm thick Plexiglas and is watertight up to 100 meters. The diver’s watch was originally designed to be worn on the left wrist as marine divers also had to wear compass and depth gauge on their arms. It was practical to place the watch on the right wrist.

Timeless design by PANERAI

The most eye-catching feature of this mechanical watch is its integrated winding crown which is placed at 9 o’clock, opposite the normal 3 o’clock position. The left-hander watch reminds us of the company’s tradition as supplier to the Italian navy divers. The case itself pays homage to the traditional pillow-shaped form, with another speciality is the sandwich dial. The fluorescent Super-LumiNova® is placed between the two disks. Numbers and indexes were not attached separately, but cut out from the upper black dial. This guarantees that not only the indexes, but also the numbers shine at night. The cardinal numbers are big and therefore easily seen even underwater at all conditions as the Super-LumiNova® material was also applied to the hands.

An investment into the future

Nothing distracts from the essential - the hours and minutes – when looking at this timepiece. The design is simple and functional. Every detail fits, even the nostalgic looking font. As a rare left-hander watch, the Luminor 1950 Left Handed 3 Days Acciaio is not only a jewel on the wrist of all water sports enthusiasts, but also of interest to collectors.
