Luminor Base 8 Days Acciaio

The '8 DAYS' lettering on the lower half of the dial indicates that, thanks to the careful assembly of this exclusive movement, the power reserve has been extended for more than a week. What makes the PANERAI Luminor Base PAM 560 8 Days Acciaio so special is its design and choice of materials. Historically, this model has all the right characteristics.

Delivery times for this product are dependent on PANERAI and can take several weeks.

Like the 2.5mm thick watch glass, the sapphire-crystal caseback is transparent, thus allowing a glimpse of the P.5000 calibre movement. First introduced to the public in 2013, this movement comprises 127 components. Executed entirely in-house, it has two barrels, 21,600 alternations/hour, and incorporates both the Glucydur® balance and KIF Parechoc@ shock protection.

The Panerai PAM 560 – simple elegance

Because its movement is just 4.5mm in height, the PANERAI PAM 560's case has a flatter design. If you appreciate the combination of two historical features: a hand-wound watch with a long power reserve, the PAM 560, which still employs PANERAI's renowned cutting-edge technology, should be your choice.

A bright future for the watchmaker's art

The PANERAI Luminor focuses on its primary function – the presentation of hours and minutes. For naval divers, it was essential to be able to read the dial display, even in the dark. Thus, the sandwich dial, Guido Panerai's major development, is incorporated in the PAM 560 – its upper, black disc is perforated, so that its markings are intensified in the dark by the bright fluorescent Super-LumiNova® coating on the lower disc.

The Luminor's special naval features

The crown protection bridge and its special production method - milled from the same block of steel as its robust case - was a distinctive feature of the first Luminor. Because this brushed-steel crown protector is designed to protrude beyond the polished case, this now has a reduced diameter of 44mm, narrower than historical versions of this historical diver's watch. However, its black vintage calf-leather strap enhanced by its stitched seams and 1930’s-style trapezoidal steel buckle still recall the military aspects of Panerai's historic watches. A replacement strap and a steel screwdriver are also included.
