From the beginning, the Luminor Base has been one of the successful models of the Italian watchmaker. Now a completely revised version is available, with a new movement style.
The most important innovation in the inner workings of the PANERAI Luminor Base is the P.5000 calibre, which is hand-made and replaces the Unitas manual winding calibre. The new power generator is factory-quality and consists of 127 parts, making it just 4.5mm thick. A Glucydur® balance, the proven KIF Parechoc® shock protection and two barrels ensure an amazing power reserve of eight days. All of these components are packed into a 44mm diameter large polished steel case.
Through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback, one can have an insight into the operation of the calibre. For the model with reference PAM 561, the housing is made of stainless, corrosion-resistant and hypoallergenic steel grade AISI 316L. This steel alloy is a development of authentic steel traditionally used in the company's history for marine use. The hand-wound watch waterproof up to 300 meters depth is perfect for water sports and is particularly suitable for diving.
The PANERAI Luminor Base has a very sober design, which dates back to the development of Dino Zei in 1993. For example, the dial design focuses on what matters most: the time display. Fluorescent coated black Arabic numerals and hour markers contrast with the white of the dial. The most striking thing about this clock is actually the crown protection. The pragmatic, understated design has made this timepiece highly sophisticated so it is the top model from the Italian factory. The new Luminor Base has what it takes to continue the writing of the success story. With its understated style, this masterful timepiece will adorn the wrist of its wearer.
