OFFICINE PANERAI

PAM00576

Luminor 1950 8 Days GMT Oro Rosso

As the first mechanism designed by OFFICINE PANERAI, this manually wound P.2002 has been developed and designed completely in-house. It comes with a number of functions, showing not only the incredible advances in the art of watchmaking, while preserving the original achievements. The PANERAI Luminor 1950 8 days GMT Oro Rosso PAM 576 displays an elegant colour contrast through the polished 18K red gold together with the matt brown dial; a fine combination which neatly rounds off the elegance of this watch.

Delivery times for this product are dependent on PANERAI and can take several weeks.

Towards the end of the 1940’s and at the start of the 1950’s, using Angelus mechanisms, PANERAI was able to create a power reserve of 8 days. This meant that the Italian marine divers only needed to synchronise their watches once a week in order to keep time, which in turn provided them a significant advantage during longer missions. This feature continues to delight today.

The legendary Luminor watch for today

By employing 3 barrels, the Swiss watchmaker has created a mechanism which provides a stable and reliable service for 8 days. The linear display ensures the remaining power can always be easily read. The advanced functions of the PANERAI PAM 576 include the date display at 3 o'clock and a centrally located second time zone, which even comes with a 24-hour display. These can be found together with the small seconds at 9 o'clock. Maximal precision for setting the time can be achieved through the use of the reference signal via the seconds reset device that is operated by the winding crown.

Technology with incredible features

The P.2002 is based on the mechanic hand-wound calibre of the 1950’s and together with its functionality, its reliability and robustness, this is truly a model to be remembered. The Glucydur® balance with 28,800 alternations per hour and the KIF Parechoc® anti-shock device ensure this reliability comes as standard. Those who opt for the PANERAI PAM 576 will certainly receive a technological masterpiece: The next stage of diver’s watch tradition.

The elegant choice of diver’s watch

Even the case of the PAM 576 harks back to the design of the 1950’s, when the development of Luminor was completed. The crown protection bridge, as well as the non-sensitive strap, make this watch stand underwater pressure well. The characteristic cushion shape strengthens the elegance of the rot gold model, which also comes with a platinum segment and a diameter of 44mm. Minimalist marks in traditional style subdivide the sandwich-dial. The Super-LumiNova® used on this model mean that the time can be read even in the dark.
