Radiomir Black Seal 8 Days Acciaio

In the PANERAI Radiomir Black Seal 8 Days Acciaio PAM00609, PANERAI has incorporated the new manually-wound calibre P.5000 with 8-day power reserve. The steel case is 45mm in diameter, making it 2mm smaller than the original RADIOMIR from the 1930’s.

Guido Panerai developed new divers’ watches for the Italian navy before the Second World War. With his Radiomir model, he managed to make it possible to read the time even in poor light conditions. This was due to the luminous dial, developed by Guido Panerai, which contained radioactive radium. Hence the name Radiomir. Nowadays, OFFICINE PANERAI uses Super-LumiNova® as the luminous material. This is indicated on the dial with the letter “L”.

Classic form

In the new Radiomir Black Seal 8 Days Acciaio, PANERAI presents the successor to the legendary Radiomir Black Seal Acciaio PAM00183. OFFICINE PANERAI has, however, incorporated a manually-wound movement with an 8-day power reserve into the PAM 609. The 4.5mm thin calibre P.5000 beats at a rate of 21,600 oscillations and consists of 127 components.

Simply timeless

The Radiomir Black Seal is printed on the dial at the 12 o’clock position. Underneath this, at the 6 o’clock position is written “PANERAI 8 Days”. The small seconds are located at 9 o’clock. The case is made completely of high-sheen polished AISI 316L steel. This very bio-compatible material will slip beautifully onto any wrist. OFFICINE PANERAI has built a glass back onto the case of the Radiomir Black Seal 8 Days Acciaio PAM 609. This gives you a clear view of the purist-looking calibre P.5000.

Inventor Guido Panerai

The PAM00609 is guaranteed watertight to a pressure of 10 bar. This corresponds to a diving depth of around 100 meters. Ex works, PANERAI supplies the new Radiomir Black Seal 8 Days Acciaio with a gold-coloured calf-leather strap and ecru-coloured stitching with the name “Monte Carlo“ in the size 27/22. To go with it, PANERAI supplies a polished steel trapeze clasp. All the straps can be changed easily by loosening the four screws on the lugs on the caseback. In the PAM 609, PANERAI is presenting a real treat for all Paneristi.
