Radiomir 1940 3 Days Automatic Acciaio

In the Radiomir 1940 3 Days Automatic Acciaio, PANERAI presents a whole new dimension. The cushion shaped case is a mere 42mm in diameter. This makes this model the preferred design for all Paneristi with slimmer wrists. The PAM00655 with its classic styling is impressively modern yet contemporary.

When the Italian navy ordered the first divers’ watches from Guido Panerai in Florence at the end of the 1930’s, only pocket watches were suitable for military use thanks to their robustness. This led to a case diameter of 47mm. As not everyone can wear this size, OFFICINE PANERAI looked for a solution. PANERAI presents a new, smaller size in the PAM 655. This means PANERAI is giving many new customers the chance to become Paneristi, with the Radiomir 1940 3 Days Automatic Acciaio.

The new size

The PAM 655 case is made completely of polished steel. The dial gleams in a clear white colour. Special features include the black Arabic numerals and the black hands with cream-coloured Super-LumiNova®. The small second display is located at the 9 o’clock position. On the dial, behind every Arabic numeral there is a cream-coloured Super-LumiNova® light point. In fact, at the 12 o’clock position, there are two points.

Historically perfect

The calibre P.4000 is used in the PAM 655. It lies concealed behind a screwed steel base with transparent sapphire glass. The mechanical mechanism consists of 203 components. It supplies energy for 72 hours. It is powered by an off-centre flywheel, made of a tungsten alloy. This means the Radiomir 1940 3 Days Automatic Acciaio is ideally equipped for extreme situations.

The small divers’ watch

With a relatively small case diameter of just 42mm, the PAM 655 is nevertheless watertight to a depth of 100 meters. On this model, the lugs are pinned, not screwed. This allows you to change strap quickly. Ex works, PANERAI supplies this model with a dark brown “Assolutamente“ strap with beige stitching.
