Luminor 8 Days Set

With the PAM00786 Set, OFFICINE PANERAI presents two models which were produced in very small numbers between 1993 and 1997. The DLC coated Luminor Black Seal Left-Handed 8 Days with a brown calf-leather strap and the Luminor Daylight 8 Days in steel with a dark brown alligator-leather strap. Both models come together in a wooden box including a torpedo.

In all OFFICINE PANERAI watches, historical meaning is always at the forefront. That’s why PANERAI supply a faithful model of the historic torpedo in the PAM 786 Set. During the second world war, the Italian navy built their weapons onto two-man vessels in order to increase the accuracy of their torpedos. This vessel allowed the frogmen to get closer to their target. The explosion was triggered by a detonator with a timer.

The reproduction of an icon

The Luminor Daylight is powered by a mechanical, manually wound calibre P.5000. It delivers the energy for an 8-day power reserve when the mechanism is fully wound. The white dial features imprinted, blue numerals and indices. Small white points made of Super-LumiNova®, which gleam brightly in the night are located behind the indices. As in the original, the model features a dark-blue alligator leather strap with light blue stitching. The 22 mm wide pin buckle, which is firmly stitched to the alligator leather strap, is one quite special feature. The small-seconds at the 9. o’clock position, as well as the hands for hours and minutes, are made of blued steel. A screwed base made of brushed stainless steel is located on the back of the case. The title OFFICINE PANERAI FIRENZE and the OP logo are engraved here.

The first classic

The stainless steel Luminor Black Seal Left-Handed 8 Days is covered with a black DLC coating. The calibre P.5000 operates at a rate of 21.600 oscillations per hour and counts as one of OFFICINE PANERAI’s new developments. The mechanical mechanism delivers a power reserve of 8 days. The black dial has been filled with beige Super-LumiNova®. The small seconds at the 3 o’clock position tells you that you are dealing with a “Destro” version. In this design, the crown protection bracket is not located at the 3 o’clock position, but at the 9 o’clock position. PANERAI also stitch a coated pin buckle directly onto the dark brown calf leather strap in this version too. The beige stitching matches the dial on the Luminor Black Seal Left-Handed perfectly.

For collectors

Due to high demand and the low volume of only 500 pieces, we expect this PAM 786 Set to reach a high collector’s value very quickly.
